INFANT/TODDLER CARE
AT LITTLE PEOPLE'S PLACE
At our child care we have children age 5 and under of various ages and stages. We specialize is making sure all needs are met in each group.
We are licensed to have 12 children, and licensing considers an infant to be under 18 months. When we do have an infant, which I consider under one year, we will chart the day in more detail. We have log books that will chart diapers, amount of food, nap times, etc. that will go home with you at the end of the day. This is helpful when you need to know how the day went and what they had, etc. Once a schedule is set and we both are familiar/comfortable with nap times, what your child has eaten, etc., we will stop using the book.
We are required by licensing to place all Infants on their backs while sleeping, once they are able to turn over by themselves and prefer to sleep on their tummies this is permitted. All infants will be held while bottle feeding.
You will be surprised how quickly your infant/toddler will grow and develop in our environment. The stimulation and role modeling the children do really brings them along nicely.
All toddlers will be encouraged to join in when we have circle time, music class, story time and our exercise class with Christi. Generally infant/toddlers play and do their own thing, but be assured that they are taking in what is expected of them, they just are not ready. Most toddlers are ready for these activities at two or two and a half. We try them as they get close to the age and when ready they are off and become one of the 'BIG KIDS'.
